Olivia Newton-John's husband John Easterling discusses her final days

Olivia-Newton John’s grieving husband John Easterling has discussed the stars .

The beloved Grease star died .

Speaking to the  in Australia, American businessman John, 70 – who wed Olivia in 2008 – said that despite the difficulties of her illness she spent the end of her life ‘in peace’.

‘She was very clear and very alive and very conscious and not in pain. So there was a quality of life there at that time that I think is so critical.’

Olivia had breast cancer three times and was first diagnosed in 1992,

John went on to gush about his late wife’s ‘uncommon ability to care’ and said she would have been surprised by global outpouring of grief.  

‘All the accolades…she would kind of brush that off’

Adding: ‘She was just busy focusing on living her life being a joyful spirit.’

The event, which was also attended by Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi, included a musical tribute featuring a medley of the Grease and Xanadu star’s biggest hitspiritual ceremony in Peru in June 2008, which was followed that up with a legal ceremony nine days later on Jupiter Island in Florida. 

More than 25 years had gone since her breast cancer diagnosis when Olivia made the shocking announcement that she had again been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. It was during this time that she revealed she had a previous recurrence of the disease four years earlier, but had decided to keep the news private.

Sadly, the If You Love Me, Let Me Know star revealed that her third diagnosis had metastasized, spread to her bones, and progressed to Stage IV.

The event at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne, will include a performance from singer Delta Goodrem, who played the actress in a 2018 miniseries.
