Restoring Balance in Egypt's Economy Conference 2016

AENA organized a conference on Egyptian economic policy in partnership with Cairo University's College of Economics and Political Science, Banque Misr, and City University of New York (CUNY). The conference was held on the anniversary of Talaat Harb's birthday in Cairo, Egypt in November 2016 and featured keynote speakers and discussions with policy advisers, Egyptian and international economy experts, and key practitioners in the field, including Professor Eric Davies of Rutgers University, with notable speeches and discussions led by Dr. Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University; Dr. Hala Said, Cairo University's Dean Faculty of Economics and Political Science; Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud El-Etreiby, Chairman of Banque Misr; and Dr. Gouda Abdel Khalek.

 

Following the conference, key recommendations for action were released. The conference was widely covered in the Egyptian news, with support from renowned economists such as Dr. Galal Amin. Videos of the opening remarks and plenary sessions have also been published widely.
